Oh man....Why you gotta hate the black R's. I got a black R, and I've yet to come accross a faster white, black or yellow R. Their out there, just no where near me. I do like they way the yellow Rs look compared to mine, but they are just not worth the extra unwanted attention. I rather they not see me coming.
But I think you may be right. People do see the R and kinda shy away from the challenge.

thats why people like to call our type R's, hype R's. Because our cars have so much hype behind them. Kinda like Supra's do! lol
As for white's being slower them blacks or yellow, thats false in a way. From the factory they are all them, kinda. Acutally the 97-98 whites are lighter since we don't have A/C standard, etc... so thats a slight advantage. Anyway, whites probally are slower because most of the owners leave them stock or almost stock because the whites are so limited and will be a collectors item first. The black and yellow one's are extreamly common. Even here in CA where we got most of the type R's, I probally see a black or yellow one every other day to every day. But seeing a white one besides mine is like a month or few month occurance.

Very nicely put. That's kinda what I meant in my last sentence on the previous statement. The hype that surrounds the Type R makes people think they are some type of super car. But the reality is that 90% of the cars out there all have bolt ons and nothing else. Nothing major like NOS, Turbo or SC. And when these poeple get beat by a stock R and their ride has every bolt on out there, they just assume the car is super fast. Like the Supra, I don't think it's anything amazing, but it has major potential!!
I'll be the first to say that an R isn't all the hype people say it is. People just don't have their cars set up correctly.
